Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Debara ("Debara", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Debara mobile app and website (the "Service"). We built Debara to keep your pantry, shopping lists and shared spaces organized — and we try to collect as little personal data as possible to make that happen.

1. Information we collect

We only collect data that you, or your household, directly provide to us:

  • Account information: if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, where you allow it, your name and email address, so we can create and secure your account.
  • Content you add: pantry items, shopping lists, household/space names, invite codes, aliases, and any notes or activity you create within the app.
  • Subscription information: if you purchase a subscription, our payment processor (RevenueCat, via the App Store or Google Play) shares limited purchase and entitlement data with us so we can unlock paid features. We do not see or store your payment card details.
  • Usage analytics: see "Analytics" below.

2. On-device intelligence

Features that suggest categories, expiry dates, or shopping items run using on-device intelligence built into your phone's operating system. This processing happens locally on your device — your pantry and list content is not sent to us or to any third-party AI service for these features.

3. Analytics

We use Mixpanel to understand how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened or which features are used) so we can improve Debara. Mixpanel may receive event data and device/usage identifiers, but we do not send the contents of your pantry, shopping lists, or household data to Mixpanel. You can request that analytics data associated with your account be deleted — see "Your rights" below.

4. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including syncing data across your devices and household members.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To process subscriptions and entitlements.
  • To understand usage trends and improve the app.
  • To respond to support requests.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only share data with the service providers needed to run Debara, specifically:

  • Supabase — our backend database and authentication provider, used to store and sync your account and household data.
  • Apple / Google — for sign-in, when you choose to use those options.
  • RevenueCat — for managing in-app subscriptions and purchases.
  • Mixpanel — for product analytics, as described above.

Within the app, content you add to a shared household or space (such as pantry items, lists, and aliases) is visible to the other members of that household or space — that's the point of sharing! We do not make this content visible to anyone outside the people you invite.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Debara, our users, or the public.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and household data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting reasons.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage and delete most of your data directly within the app's settings, or contact us at [email protected] and we'll help. See our GDPR page for more detail if you're in the EU/UK.

8. Children's privacy

Debara is not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.

10. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, contact us at [email protected].
